                                                                                         MY STORY

My name is Svetlana Granik.

I began my career as a Graphic Designer with Dental Express LLC in Youngstown in June 2009; my work experience on behalf of important clients since that time has given me a deeper appreciation of the graphic arts industry.   I have handled a multitude of tasks and special projects for British Petroleum; the Anzellotti, Sperling, Pazol & Small law firm; AVI Foodsystems; Betras, Kopp & Harshman; Tippecanoe Country Club; Trumbull Country Club; WRPA; Mahoning County Democratic Party; and Kennedy Catholic School.

I had been employed as a Graphic Designer and Senior Art Director with Rubenstein Associates in Youngstown, Ohio, since October 2010.  I utilized specialized computer software to design new ideas and incorporate them into brochures, advertisements, booklets, business cards, banners, flyers, identity systems, direct mail and websites.

My latest job as a graphic designer was at Kentrol. I was designing collateral material for Jeep accessories.

I bring a new perspective as a native of Russia. I was born and raised in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.  My interest in Graphic Design began at the Art School in Dzerzhinsk, Russia, where my parents owned Lyu-Gran Design & Typography LLC, a graphic design company, and where I developed the work ethic that has stayed with me to the present day.  I pursued my interest with studies in Interior Design at the Architectural University of Nizhny Novgorod (2001-2004).

I emigrated to America in 2004 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2010.

I graduated, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design from West Liberty University in May 2009.  My range of studies included extensive coursework in Graphic Design (2007-2009).  I was a full-time WLU student and a member of the West Virginia Epsilon Chapter, Alpha Chi, and the National College Honor Scholarship Society.

I served two internships in which I developed a solid base of communication and technological skills, in addition to a comprehensive knowledge of the business world.  I assisted in the design of WLU’s website and brochures during the 2008-2009 academic term.  I gained experience as a Graphic Designer at Wheeling Jesuit University’s Center for Educational Technologies, where I designed an evaluation report for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) program at WJU in the summer of 2008.

I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my qualifications will be beneficial to your organization’s success.

Sincerely, Svetlana Granik.
